cali date night

For some reason, Scott and I just never seem to take pictures of ourselves. And it's too bad. Because we're pretty cool and have some awesome adventures ;) While in California, we were super lucky to be able to go to the temple. You don't realize what a blessing it is to have a temple so close until you move somewhere--aka Charlotte--and the nearest temple is three hours away. And with a toddler, it just makes it near impossible.

So we definitely took the chance to leave J with my family and attend a session in the Los Angeles Temple--the place where it alllll started for our little family. It was such a calm and wonderful couple of hours spent in the temple thinking about our Heavenly Home. And I knew I was exactly where Heavenly Father wanted me to be. During those few hours I received so many tender mercies that confirmed that fact, and I felt the Spirit testify to me that my Savior and my Father know me, love me and are proud of me. It was simply awesome.

I thought about my cousin Camille, too, when I saw that there were three missionaries going through for the first time, two of them girls. I cried a bit just thinking of how awesome the youth are and how true the church is. The Church is absolutely, 100% true!

Sitting in the celestial room with my eternal companion is always the icing on the cake for me. I just feel so in love and happy with Scott by my side. Attending the temple as husband and wife definitely strengthens us as a couple.

And then we left the temple and argued over where to eat dinner hahaha. Scott wanted to eat Sushi there in LA and I don't know why, but all I wanted to do was go back to Valencia and eat at someplace I knew. He said, "C'mon, let's have an adventure and do something new!" All I could think was DANGER. I don't know where a safe place is to eat in LA, especially while driving my dad's Lexus! So Scott said, "Then we'll stay in Beverly Hills and only go to a place with valet." All I could think was EXPENSIVE. Needless to say, I was quite stubborn and nopey.

Scott found a shwanky little Sushi place in Beverly Hills called Matsuhisa (i think). There was a Bentley and a Ferrari in the valet lot so we felt good about leaving the car. Scott was going crazy seeing all the crazy nice cars driving around and I kept saying, "Scott, we are in Beverly Hills. We ain't in Albemarle no more." The place inside was trendy and hip and loud and cramped. We ordered fancy little sushi bites and tempura rolls and they were ahhhh-mazing. For dessert we shared a Bento box chocolate molten cake. Oh man. It was so much fun. And different. And darn it, why is Scott always right? With some food in my belly, I was definitely a happy camper again and I felt the in love feeling come back haha. We may have even held hands driving back to Santa Clarita, hubba hubba.

Truly, Scott is the best. The ying to my yang. A guy who likes adventures and pushes me out of my comfort zone and knows when I need food asap. So happy he is mine forever. I could eat sushi with that guy for all eternity.
